Building locationsDART specializes in producing Town maps that are GIS ready! We’ll take all your existing mapping and produce one or a series of composite maps in digital AutoCAD and/or MapInfo formats . Think it costs too much? Don’t guess.
In the case of multiple mapping sets - The first step is to determine which maps will be used as the base for your mapping. Most of your maps will be at different scales and levels of completeness. A subdivision missing on this map, will be on another. Your best and most accurate map will be used as a base and the roads and related information will be created in digital format from this map. The map is traced on screen, with each data set created on its own layer by our experienced CAD & Mapping technologists.
Each of your other maps (zoning, sewers, watermains, homes etc) will be scanned, and the scales between the base map created above and this map will be synchronized. The maps will be "pinned" at road intersections or other common points, and the new information added to the base map. This process will continue until all the maps have been converted into digital form. Our process ensures that inconsistencies between your maps are eliminated and that all the information from one mapping set is used on the others maximizing the completeness of your mapping.
Updating of Your Base Mapping
New subdivisions and corrections you request will be added to the base mapping to create a 100% complete base map.
Proofing of Your Maps
DART performs QA/QC on all its maps and then sends a proof to you to review for any final changes. Your "red pen" changes are then added to the final map.
Final Map Plots
Once the maps are complete we can plot your maps at any size and material you request. For example, you may want a sewer map, watermain map, zoning map and a composite map plotted. We provide B&W mylar plots, colour paper plots depending upon your request. We even provide you with the digital files for your future use. These are useful when consultants come knocking and are doing a study in your community or for internal use.
