Navigation - Why is it important? Visitors to your web site want two things. Freedom and structure. These two conflict if the web site provides too many diversion points. Some examples: pull downs, pop ups, rollovers, or jump boxes, - and the list goes on and on. Just because a navigational technique is new or possible to introduce to a web site doesn't make it necessary to do so. Consistent navigation - so a visitor can explore in a structured format is essential. But so is the freedom to explore non linearly. You have probably found that the navigation system for this web site is different than most. However it is appropriate to the message I want to bring to you. It is very clear as to how far you have to go, and where you are now. It permits only one way navigation downwards and multiple navigation options as you drill down through the site.
