PROJECT TWO - Shoreline Mapping - GTA Region
PROJECT SUMMARY
DART was retained by a large Municipality to map a 200 metre stretch of shoreline with dangerous access, suffering from erosion. The shoreline drops 10 metres into Lake Ontario. This type of object is difficult or dangerous to survey (particularly the face of the bank). No problem for DART!.
DART obtained photographs of the shoreline from a small boat and created a complete 3 dimensional model of the shoreline face for use by the shoreline consultant in developing remedial plans. DART also incorporated old top of bank surveys into the drawing to assist in showing erosion over time of the top of bank. Field work for this project was completed in only 4 hours! (not including getting to the site)
